Emily K's therapeutic approach centers around the acknowledgement that we are all fellow travelers who benefit from care, compassion, curiosity, and creativity. From this existential, person-centered foundation, Emily provides warmth, support, empathy, and openness as she creatively tailors her therapeutic approach to each individual client. Emily uses an eclectic combination of therapeutic modalities, but believes the collaborative therapeutic relationship is the most important factor contributing to wellness. During your sessions, Emily will pull from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which offers strategies for increasing mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, Strengths-based, and other therapeutic strategies will be most helpful for clients.

Emily enthusiastically welcomes the intuitive, dynamic nature of therapy and strives to meet each client exactly where they are in their process.

More About Emily Koch

Along with being a Licensed Professional Counselor, Emily is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is qualified to help individuals navigate substance use recovery as well as recovery from process addictions. Emily is also highly qualified to walk with individuals as they face issues revolving around grief, divorce, trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, family/relationships/parenting, attachment, sex/sexual identity, and anyone needing a safe, affirming environment from which to process the inherent struggles of life.
