Welcome to our blog at Authentic Growth Wellness Group! We are so excited to see you here. This blog will cover many topics related to mental health and disorders, but for our first posts, we want you to get to know the team a little better with a Q & A!
Masters-level counseling intern!
Right now, I am really into narrative therapy. Since I’m a writer, I believe that the stories we tell ourselves can impact our lives either positively or negatively. I’ve also had experience working with adults who have developmental, physical, and cognitive disabilities, and I absolutely loved every second of that job!
As someone who was helped tremendously by therapy, along with my love of meeting new people, I knew that giving therapy was the job for me! I hope to be the support that someone needs, just like when I needed support.
Meeting new people! I love learning about others. Another favorite part of my job are my coworkers! They are absolutely amazing, and I can’t imagine not having them by my side. They’ve helped me begin to form my therapist identity, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
I love to write my books, hang out with my family and friends, go bowling, watch scary video compilations on YouTube, and read (and by that I mean buy more books than I’ll ever have time to read in my lifetime!)
“I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.”- Anne Frank
That’s a tough question, but I’d have to say either “The Lego Movie” or “Primal Fear”. Yes, I’m aware these are two very different genres LOL.
Hands down any type of pasta. I could eat pasta for the rest of my life!
My favorite book is The Great Gatsby; it’s actually the book that helped inspire me to write! It has a special place in my heart. Any true crime podcast grabs my attention right away
I absolutely LOVE rap and dance music! But you can always catch me singing along to some classic rock as well.
Fall! My birthday is in fall, and I love the crunch of fallen leaves! Plus, I’m a sucker for a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Not really, but I want to start one! I like to write and hang out with my friends to de-stress.
Not currently. I used to have hermit crabs, and they were awesome until they escaped LOL.
I wish I knew more about personality disorders! I want to learn how to help those who have these, and hopefully be a source of helpfulness and someone they can trust.
This is a hard choice, but I’d say Jake Gyllenhaal because why not? I’ve watched every movie of his, and it helps that he’s not bad looking!
I have two! I am a 2-time published author, and I am adopted!
There are so many places I love, but my favorite place is honestly probably Raising Cane’s! Their sauce is to DIE for.
